About me
Demetrio has three decades of GIS experience, which include working for different agencies in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He has been a GISP since 2007, and re-certified multiple times. He is a Certified Mapping Scientist (GIS/LIS, Lidar, and Remote Sensing), re-certified multiple times, and past-certified GEOINT (GIS) from USGIF. Currently, he is a geospatial contractor to government and academia, an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky, and at Kentucky State University. He is a Fellow of the Soil and Water Conservation Society, of the Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals (KAMP), and of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. He serves on numerous committees and boards, and he currently focuses his efforts on initiatives fostering the development of the practice of GIS and remote sensing by pre-career and early career professionals.
