Paul Nave is the Owensboro-Daviess County 9-1-1 Director for the City of Owensboro. He has successfully passed the National Emergency Number Association; Emergency Number Professional Exam. In 2017, he received his 9-1-1 Center Managers Certification. He has received his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University in education with an emphasis in Science and English. He has two associate’s degrees; from the University of Kentucky and Morehead State University. Nave was a part time science teacher teaching elementary school for two years and decided it was time to change scenery and began his career as a Telecommunicator with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office. He worked as a Telecommunicator and supervisor with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office for 12 years; prior to the merger of the county and city dispatch centers. Nave was appointed the position of Director in February 2010. Nave has been the Director over the Owensboro-Daviess County 9-1-1 sense its infancy. Nave is a regular contributor to the Kentucky legislative committee with the Kentucky Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association; being an instrumental part in helping 9-1-1 centers with legislative concerns and changes. Have was appointed Kentucky Emergency Service Board representing Kentucky NENA and APCO state members and is actively serving on the state board. Nave has a true passion for looking at the future and is always trying to make 9-1-1 better than yesterday.
